How To Fix A Sick Goldfish

Diagnosing goldfish disease as early as possible is an important part of maintaining your aquarium. If you can’t readily identify a goldfish disease see your local vet, or pet store.

Fish live by absorbing oxygen and they give off carbon dioxide as a waste product. Plants in daylight do the opposite, so that what is poison to one species gives life to the other. So adding plants to your aquarium will assist in keeping your goldfish healthy and disease free.

Prevention is always easier than cure, so by keeping your aquarium clean, feeding your fish properly, avoiding wide temperature fluctuations and performing partial water changes as necessary you will go a long way to keeping your fish healthy. However, no matter how well you maintain your tank, from time to time one or more of your goldfish may become ill or display signs of stress.

Some of the more common goldfish diseases are discussed in this article.

Anchor worms appear as a 1/4 to 3/8 inch piece of string with a forked tail. Large anchor worms can be easily seen. They appear as clear, greenish-white or brownish-red strings. Once the anchor worms have buried themselves into the flesh of the fish open sores may appear on the skin. Anchor worms may be visible in the sores. Frequently this parasite is introduced into the fish tank from adding live food to the tank, or from aquarium plants, especially those taken from rivers or creeks. Anchor worms attach themselves beneath the scales of the fish where they bury their anchor-shaped head under the skin causing ulceration and distress.

Anchor worms are highly contagious and must be treated immediately. Your pet store will have a treatment for anchor worm, usually in the form of a gyrase inhibitor that can be added to the water in the tank. This should be effective in killing the parasites in three or four days.

Swimbladder disease should be suspected whenever a fish appears to have difficulty stabilizing itself in the tank. It is fairly common in goldfish although fancy varieties appear more susceptible to the disease. It can be genetic in origin or caused by a variety of other factors including inadequate or improper diet, bacterial infection or even poor quality aquarium water.

Apart from improving the water condition if that is necessary, some fish keepers suggest feeding your goldfish thawed frozen peas. Feeding the fish with sinking food instead of floating food can minimize the intake of air. It may also be worthwhile moving your sick goldfish to a shallow tank while you treat it. This may reduce the stress on the fish. Swimbladder disease often occurs quite suddenly in previously healthy fish.

Dropsy is not a specific goldfish disease, but appears as a condition where the fish’s abdomen becomes swollen due to a concentration of fluids in the body tissues or cavities. The abdominal swelling can create a pinecone effect where the fishís scales protrude from the body. The cause of the swelling could be any of several conditions including cancer, bacterial infection, cancer or internal parasites. Depending on the source of the condition dropsy may be contagious. There are no known successful treatments for dropsy and the condition usually proves fatal.

If the fish has not been fighting, torn or frayed fins are usually indications of tail or fin rot. This is a bacterial infection that first presents as a whitish edge on the fins, before the fins begin to rot away. It is easily treated with antibiotics available from your local pet store. Make sure that the medication states that it treats fin or tail rot. In some cases a secondary fungal infection can occur. In this case, treat the fin rot before dealing with the fungal problem.

Fungus is usually a secondary infection. A fish with an open wound or sore caused from injury or disease may suffer from a lack of mucous around the area of the wound. Open wounds like this can often attract a secondary fungal infection. Look for patches of white or grey fuzzy puffs attached to the skin. There are several treatments available for fungal infections from the pet store. Fungus responds well to quick treatment.

Perhaps the most common parasitic disease in goldfish is ick. It is frequently present in freshwater fish tanks and will infect fish that have suffered recent infection or those in poor general health. Ick is characterized by small white dots that look like sprinkled salt on the body. The fish may attempt to scratch the infected areas on the wall of the tank which can cause further damage. Rapid breathing and cloudy eyes can also be signs of ick. See your pet store for ick treatment. Badly infected fish should be moved to a quarantine tank for treatment but it is important to treat the main aquarium as well to ensure that the parasite has been removed.

Goldfish are actually hardy fish but there are many diseases that can cause them stress and discomfort. If you want your goldfish to live a long and healthy life you must ensure that you manage the aquarium properly and treat sick goldfish immediately that any symptoms appear.

There is a comprehensive and instantly downloadable e-book covering the entire topic of treating goldfish diseases that will help you identify and treat symptoms.

Growing Bonsai Is A Satisfying Pastime

Bonsai

Watching bonsai grow and forming them into beautiful living works of art is a fascinating and extremely rewarding hobby. Growing bonsai trees is not an expensive hobby with only a few tools needed, but a beautiful bonsai tree can be more of a centrepiece in your home than many an expensive ornament. A bonsai tree is a living sculpture.

Bonsai Trees are container grown plants or trees that are developed to be miniatures of its natural size tree. Bonsai are created from almost any perennial wood stemmed trees or shrubs that produce branches and can develop small through pot confinement with the aid from crown and root trimming.

Bonsai can be developed from seed, young shoots taken from the countryside, (please observe any laws in respect of taking wild plants or trees in your region), or can be purchased as ready planted bonsai trees. Although growing bonsai from seeds is the slowest method, but you will have total control over how your bonsai will grow.

Bonsai are grown in special pots that restrict the development of the roots but also enhance the beauty of your bonsai. Specialist soils can be purchased that give you the perfect conditions for your bonsai to develop.

Many specialist techniques are used to shape and give unique character to your bonsai including leaf trimming, wiring branches, grafting on other plants, short term dwarfing and deadwood, (a process used to age the bark). Only a few special tools are needed to sculpt bonsai, and these are readily available for little cost. All that you need to get started can be easily purchased from a bonsai nursery.

Bonsai can be had as indoor and outdoor types, many bonsai are best if they are left outdoors in the warmer summer months and then brought inside in the winter.

And for anyone that likes the idea, you can buy artificial bonsai trees.

If you are wondering if developing bonsai is for you, I say have a go, bonsai trees are easy to grow and maintain, and take very little of your time, each and every bonsai is individual, and who can’t help but to admire a bonsai tree whenever they see one.

Bait Fish: article # 15 How To Keep Alive Crappie Minnows From Bait Dealers Visit Our Website For Details!

fathead minnows

No Exit Popup Old School Catfish Course Link

It is very important to understand a few simple pointers when you go to purchase your crappie minnow bait fish at your local bait shop or at any bait shop. Many times we do not have time to catch our own bait fish for our fishing trips so we go to our local bait shop to purchase some. In most case this works out just fine. Unfortunately there are so many bait fish that make great live fishing bait presentations that you cannot purchase in at at bait dealer, but for the basic bait fish types or worms bait shops work fine.

One thing you may not know, bait shops do not adhere to any set standards on naming the bait fish they sell many times they list their baits as they are called by the local fisherman in the area. For example they may be selling rosy red minnows but they advertise them as tuffies which in truth they are not. Rosy red minnows are actually a type of commercially raised fathead minnow used for crappie fishing that is sold throughout the United States and Canada to bait dealers. My point here is you need to be able to identify what type of bait fish you are wishing to purchase. It does make a difference depending on what type of gamefish you are targeting.

You also need to inspect the bait fish the bait shops have in their bait tanks to make sure they are healthy. Here’s a few tips to help with your inspection:

Number – 1

Look in the dealers bait tank to see if the bait fish are swimming in tight formation at the bottom of the tank. This is a clear sign of healthy bait fish.

Number – 2

Have the dealer pull a few bait fish up with a bait net so you can inspect them. If any of these fish have a red noses or missing scales, or have white fungus on their bodies, DO NOT BUY these fish are are sick and they probably have infected or weakened the rest of the bait fish in the tank. These fish will be dead before you can ever use them on the water. Go to another bait shop if you can.

Number – 3

If any of the fish pulled out to inspect are discolored or darker then the others do not buy these fish are probably sick also and have probably infected the other fish in the tank. Don’t get the the dis colored fish confused with breeding males. Breeding males will be darker then the other fish but will have tubercles on the top of their head. These fish are healthy but really not a preferred bait either over the lighter females.

Number – 4

As mentioned in tip number 3 breeding males do not work as well as live bait as do the lighter females so if you could have the bait dealer separate the dark males from the lighter females and purchase only the lighter females you will have better fishing luck.

You also need to keep your bait fish lively while you are transporting them and also while you are fishing heres a few tips to keep them lively:

Number – 1

We suggest you purchase at minimum a battery powered aerator they work on the same principle as aerators that you see on in door tropical fish tanks. You can purchase them at any department store that sells fishing supplies or you can purchase them on line at bass pro shop or cabala’s. As soon as you transfer the bait fish you have purchased install the aerator and turn it on. you will be surprised how many fish you can loose if you don’t do this little simple step.

Number – 2

Normally bait shops keep their water temperature in their tanks much cooler then the outside temperature. To make sure the water temperature in your bait bucket does not go up rapidly, drop a few ice cubes in every few minutes. this will keep the water cool for the duration of your fishing trip and save you some money.

We hope the information in this article about fathead minnows. Have a great day!

Having trouble knowing what it takes to approach women?

Do you really need advice on tactics to get a girlfriend?

Lucky you came by this article!

This whole article is designed for the guys who want to learn the secrets behind seduction.

The most important thing to remember when you want to learn how to pick up women is that you need to change your mindset from “picking up” women. What you really want to become is that dude who is just the ladies man.

I know that sounds hard to become, but it’s not really that hard. The hardest thing about this would be the fact that you would need to make changes to your life that will ensure you live a lifestyle that draws women to you naturally.

I once heard a saying that a hungry dog goes hungry and never gets fed. Particularly, in the attraction world where you want to get a girl interested in you. Desperation in a guy is very obvious and girls can tell immediately. If you are desperate this is extremely unattractive and you scare women away. I cannot stress how important it is for you to learn how to interact with girls so they can feel really at ease with you. You have to really change the way you think about social situations. Don’t go to places to go “pick up” instead go to events and just have fun and enjoy yourself. If you do in fact do this, you’re going to end up being the guy who is there to have fun and enjoy yourself and you’ll naturally pick up women without really trying! Nice!

Let me teach you how to talk to women properly

Do you sometimes wonder how to talk to women properly?

Would it be fair to say that you sometimes need a lot of help when talking to girls?

Would it be fair to say that you at times say the dumbest things around women?

Good news for you, this entire article is was made for you. The whole post is dedicated to teaching you how to talk to women.

Actually, talking to women isn’t as scary as you might initially think. Once you get to a stage whereby you can understand how females think, you can talk to any girl that you choose with ease.

What you need to do though is understand the social context that you are in. I cannot tell you how crucial it is for a man to understand the importance of making women feel comfortable – not to mention women find this attractive.

Actually, the most important thing to note when talking to women is to ensure that she feels comfortable actually talking to you. As long as you can manage to make the interaction pretty comfortable for her and non threatening talking to women is easy.

However, talking to women isn’t the purpose, what you really want to do is attract her. That’s why it’s important to realize that you need to engage her in a way that conveys your personality and makes you stand out from the rest of the men.It doesn’t matter if you’re not good looking, or rich or drive a nice car – these things do help, but if that’s all you’ve got, then buddy you need to improve your game. You can still succeed with women if you know how to show her your personality.

I think I’ll have to repeat that statement to make my point. A hot car, material wealth of Brad Pitt looks will not get you the women that you want for the long term. I admit that in the short and not long term you can get some success with women, but it’s not going to last.

If you are interested about how to talk to women and would like to know how to engage her in different environments, you should check out my article on the topic: Learn How To Talk To Women
